About the Author

Christine Dobrowolski, DPM
Christine Dobrowolski is the author of Those Aching Feet - The Revised Edition: Your Guide to Diagnosis and Treatment of Common Foot Problem (ISBN: 096546122X). Christine grew up in Carmichael, California. She attended Del Campo High School and graduated as a valedictorian. She received her undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of California at Davis in 1992. Sustaining many sports related foot injuries throughout her life, Christine decided to specialize in foot and ankle problems. She earned her Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine (DPM) in 1996 from The California College of Podiatric Medicine (CCPM) in San Francisco. During her training she traveled to hospitals throughout the country, including Deaconess Hospital in Boston, University of Texas Medical Center in San Antonio, Highland Hospital in Oakland, University of Southern California County Hospital in Los Angeles and the Veterans Administration Hospitals in Denver and Loma Linda. She then completed two years of residency training in foot and ankle surgery at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana and Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Walnut Creek.

Dr. Dobrowolski has published articles in The Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery and The Lower Extremity. She also co-authored a chapter in McGlamery's Comprehensive Textbook of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Most recently, Dr. Dobrowolski completed her Master’s Degree in Nutrition. She is currently in private practice in Eureka, California.

When she is not at her private practice, Redwood Podiatry Group in Eureka, California, Christine also manages Northcoast Footcare, an online specialty store providing quality medical products to relieve common foot problems.

Dr. Dobrowolski has remained active, participating in a variety of sports. She considers mountain biking and back country skiing to be her favorite sports, but also enjoys rock climbing, hiking, backpacking, kayaking, and surfing. She has run multiple races including half and full marathons and she is no stranger to foot and ankle problems. She wanted to write a book to help others prevent as well as treat problems of the foot and ankle.
